Zak, Mikey and Mareno

Here are Zak, Mickey and Moreno, fondly known as The Three Amigos. They have just arrived together at our Lancaster sanctuary and are now enjoying their permanent retirement. They are all very sweet boys and we are happy to be able to provide a permanent place for them to call home.

C.E.R.F. Disaster

Bijou and Narnia

This is Bijou and Narnia. Bijou was rescued at thanksgiving 2015. She has lost the sight in one of her eyes but gets on just great with her best friend Narnia who has been at Castleton for a number of years.

Indy and James Bond

Indy is a Tennessee Walking Horse in his mid-thirties. We rescued Indy from an auction in July 2016 just before independence day. This had been the second time in a row that he was put through this particular auction and he was now in danger of falling into the wrong hands.
Indy lives in happy retirement in a paddock with his friends James, Thorin and Oro. He is a beautiful horse and has the sweetest temperament.

James Bond is a beautiful quarter horse in his mid thirties. He was rescued at the same time as Indy. James has many issues that he has to deal with everyday but he remains the sweetest horse. We called him James Bond after the auction tag that was attached to his quarters said he was number 007.

Ivy

This beautiful horse is called Ivy. She is a 4 year old O..B. Castleton are trying to help Ivy’s owner’s find a new approved home for her. Ivy has an issue with one of her knee’s which prevents her from any athletic activity however she would make a nice light trail horse or arena horse. She is super sweet and although only 4 years old has shown much potential. Any new home must have the commitment to be able to manage Ivy’s condition moving forward. She may develop arthritis which will require appropriate medication and possibly corrective shoeing. We feel sure that anyone who would consider giving Ivy a new permanent home would be rewarded with a wonderful companion. Spirit

This is Spirit who was rescued along with Lucy. Both mares have finished their isolation period and are now enjoying life together with their new friends. Both mares are just super sweet and it is so nice to see them happy and safe. Bless them both.

Lucy

This is Lucy, one of the two older mares that were rescued from auction some 10 days ago. Lucy has now finished her isolation protocol, had her vet check and annual vaccinations and is now enjoying life with her new friends. She really likes to munch away in our grass paddock at our Lancaster sanctuary. She and Spirit are now sharing their new forever home and seem to be rather happy with life! Bless them both.
