Endearment

This is Endearment. She is in her mid 20’s Thoroughbred mare. We have also shown a photograph of husband and wife Anita & Lee.

Lee sadly passed some 11 years ago and Anita passed very recently. We first met Endearment and Anita 10 years ago when we answered a call for help from Anita to rescue some of the horses which had been in her care as manager of a breeding farm which was now closing. She had found new homes for some but the others were now in jeopardy. We did rescue the other horses and brought them back to the safety of our sanctuary. Anita kept Endearment and for the next ten years, they were best friends. Just before Anita passed, it was her wish that she dearly wanted Endearment to live out the rest of her life at Castleton. Anita had remembered all those years ago that we came to help and she knew that Endearment would be safe with us.

We were so happy to meet Anita’s wishes and today, Endearment is living out her life at our Lancaster sanctuary.

Worry not Anita, RIP, Endearment is well and she knows you are watching over her.

Endearment is not available for sponsorship.

Tanzer

Tanzer is in his early 30’s 17 hand Trakehner gelding. As an older man he is firmly set in his ways, and likes to do things in his own way and in his own time. Tanzer unfortunately suffers with stomach ulcers and is on medication to help this situation. He is also the slowest eater on the ranch despite having wonderful teeth and has to have a paddock all to himself as otherwise other horses would eat all his food. Tanzer does like to stand and talk with his neighbors but prefers his own space anyway.

Tanzer is being sponsored in honor of Marjorie.
